I have a group of diverse learners (special education and general education students) students and strategic general education students. The students are in grades 6, 7 and 8. Our school is an elementary school which services students from grades Prek to 8th. My students are in our inclusion model, resource model and general education classrooms.
Our Middle School Special Education program and General Education program is comprised of approximately 90 amazing students .
Many of our students come from low income households and receive free or reduced-price lunch. Some have severe learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and mild cognitive delays. They are a great group of kids!
My Project
This project will be used to display our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) activities. The Middle School teachers and students are tasked with how to cultivate the social and emotional skills of the students, in addition to their academic ones.
Through our Social-Emotional lLerning (or SEL) activities and incentives, we are laying the foundation for positive learning environments, but also for future career and life successes for the students.
This bulletin board will be used to display and cultivate the SEL skills that create a more peaceful education and social setting where everyone can thrive. Socio-emotional learning engages the individual’s relationship with themselves, and how they interact with others.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
