Longing For A Laptop

My students need a new HP laptop.

This project is fully funded

I am a kindergarten teacher in rural South Carolina. Our district has been recently featured on SC ETV's "Corridor of Shame." We are a Title One school with a very high poverty rate. Ninety three percent of our students receive free or reduced priced lunch. To add to all of this, because of budget cuts, all monies have been frozen this year.

However, we are still expected to reach our objectives through whatever means we have available. Many classrooms received new technological advancements. Our classroom was put on hold because funds ran out before they made it to us. I do not have a teacher laptop and I feel that it would be VERY useful for reading, math, science, and social studies instruction as an enrichment tool.

It would help so much to involve the children in online research and to have them interact and use the technology that is available for so many. I would also use this laptop for research, lesson plans, report cards, online story books, and other enrichment activities for the children.

Your support of this project will help 23 kindergarten students become better learners through the help of today's technological innovations. You will also be helping their teacher provide for them an unlimited amount of online resources. Thank you so much for your consideration of our project.
