Although over half of our students face poverty and difficult circumstances, they come to school each day ready to learn. Our students are smart, hardworking, and willing to do what it takes to succeed at school. Many of our students find security and safety within our walls each day and look forward to coming to school for support, guidance, and love.
For many students, school is way more than a place to learn; it is a place where they are supported, nurtured, listened to, a place where they matter.
My Project
Our students often face tough situations such as homelessness, neglect, and poverty. These situations often lead to students having to wear dirty clothing to school.
Lack of clean clothes leads to poor attendance, low self-esteem, and embarrassment.
Please help our school get a washer and dryer so that we can ensure all children have access to clean clothes.
A washer and dryer will provide a way for teachers, guidance counselors, social workers, and staff to launder clothing for students and families in need. The laundry pair would also be used for accidents at school, laundering of clothing donations for our clothing and coat closet, special education towels and supplies, janitor needs, and for students participating in our community youth league sports programs.
