This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Did you know that teaching PE is required in California? Unfortunately, hiring a PE teacher is not. My students are active third graders and PE is often the highlight of their day. They enjoy tag, dodgeball, and relay races.
However, I'd like to freshen things up by teaching some new games, including kickball, baseball, and bowling.
I would also like to add to my supply of Frisbees so that there are enough for each student to have their own. This is important for games such as frisbee golf.
These games don't just let students blow off some energy, but also give them the opportunity to practice small and large muscle group skills, hand-eye coordination, and of course the important ability to work as a team.
