This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A library should be bright and enticing. It should be neat, clean, organized, and friendly. It should be a place that children want to flock to.
While my library is organized, it's just not inviting.
We currently have an old, dingy, dirty carpet that the children don't want to sit on. Some of the baskets are falling apart and don't hold that many books. Still, my children love to read and want to go to the library to pick books as often as possible. I would just like to let them stay there and relax with their books when it's time to read as well.
My Project
I would love a brand new, clean, and colorful carpet to help liven up my library. A carpet that invites the children not only to sit, get comfortable, and read, but to learn as well. I would also like some new, sturdy, book baskets to help organize our books so the children find the right book for them faster. These simple new materials would help enrich the reading experience for my students so that they enjoy it that much more.
Reading should be an enjoyable activity, something children do to escape their lives and open up their imaginations.
It should be something they look forward to doing whenever they can. Children deserve a safe, clean, and comfortable place to read. Your help could make this possible for my students.
