My Students

I teach 19 eager to learn, sweet, little first graders in a rural, low income town in Texas. They are eager to learn and read!

Do you remember how exciting stations were when you were little?

It was the part of the day that I always looked forward to the most! Well, not much has changed, because my students still love station time! I want my students to be able to practice math, science and reading skills in a fun, hands-on way during station time. I want them to be able to grow and blossom in all subjects and I believe that these activities are one way that they will be able to do so!

My Project

I am asking donors to give reading activity kits such as vowel and digraph matching puzzles, addition and subtraction station kits, subject specific books, desk offices for test taking and a texture mystery box to help my students to learn hands on. These gifts will enable students to do hands on stations instead of worksheets and read books about what they are learning in other content areas. The station kits are fun for the kids, so they are engaged in learning, having fun, and building a foundation for math and reading all in one. These activities will help to review and spiral skills during stations and help keep the skills fresh in student's minds!

This donation to our classroom would make such a huge impact on my sweet students during station time.

They would grow tremendously as readers and thinkers with these station activities. The texture box will make science a hands on time for exploration. The read aloud books will help students make connections as they read. The best part of it all is that not only will they learn and grow in so many ways, but they will also have a great time doing it! Your donation would be greatly appreciated!
