This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At our low-income, high-poverty school, I have experienced firsthand the impact of the arts on kids. We try to give our students the experience of music education. Currently, we offer general music and band.
Occasionally, our students will have sung in the choir at church or have learned to rap through friends and family, but only a few have touched a musical instrument.
Our school is unique, a small school in the heart of the Bronx. We serve from the 6th to 12th grades.
They are vibrant students who are eager to learn and to experience the world. I am hoping to continue encouraging our scholars to be creative in a positive manner and help develop their love of the arts.
My Project
We are building a studio in our school and it's amazing.
The only problem is that the studio is on the 4th floor and we have music classes on every floor of our school.
We had a great idea of using a portable recorder device to capture the classes sounds. We came across this Zoom recorder that lets you have a professional level recording and be completely portable.
We would record the classes on different floors then bring to the main studio and mix and master in the main computer.
