My Project

I created this project for a small group learning table because we need a small group table in the classroom that is the right size for our students and for the small classroom. We currently have a very large horseshoe table which is so tall we have to use 6th grade chairs. It also takes up a lot of space in our rather small classroom.

We use our small group table all day while working with individual students, small groups, and intervention groups.

The para will pull kids needing more direct instruction and supervision during whole group instruction. I, the teacher, work with small groups during centers/stations. Our Title 1 and intervention teachers also work with intervention groups throughout the day on reading, writing, and math.

This small group table has a much smaller footprint and is able to be adjusted down to Kindergarten size. The students could sit in chairs that allow their feet to reach the floor. I think it is important for the students to be comfortable to learn successfully.
