Every morning before school we have "Robot Club." This new club includes students from all grades Kindergarten through 5th, boys and girls, techies and not. It is the most exciting part of my day! The students sometimes beat me to school in the morning to get to work on their robots!
My students are highly motivated in all subject areas!
They are in all elementary grades. I have multiple sets of siblings in "ÃÂÃÂRobot Club"ÃÂ. There are many parents and teachers who make guest appearances just to see what the excitement is all about! We add new student members on a regular basis.
This group began as a math group including grades 4 and 5 and has quickly spread across all grade levels. Because of the interest and excitement we have added before and after school times for students to collaborate on their projects.
My Project
I am impressed daily with these kids's ability to put these items to use right out of the packaging. They work together, listening and observing each other and then collaborating to make their next project bigger and better! I find myself to be taking much more of a support role to these students projects. I get them what they need, they ask for more, and then I get to sit back and watch their ideas take flight!
Additional sets of LittleBits kits are needed for this club to create what they have created in their minds and so that we can continue to add students to this project-based learning group. I am so appreciative of your financial support of these future engineers, design architects, software engineers, doctors and such.
These kids began using Lego Mindstorms EV3 kits and a Rovo Robot.
They added a Sphero robot. The latest addition of a student LittleBits kit has brought the excitement throughout the school and neighborhood. I believe Santa's workshop has just received multiple orders of these robots and electronics items!
