This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are creative, active, loving, full of questions and inspiring! They absolutely enjoy fun, hands-on activities.
They are active learners who need hands-on activities throughout the day in order to allow them to explore and interact with one another.
Early Childhood Education is the focus of our school. We offer busing services that bring students from all over the city with different backgrounds and challenges. 90% of my students come from low-income families. Although my students are exposed to different learning strategies and are constantly on the go while learning, they need new hands-on activities and a safe environment that allows them to focus and emerge as readers. By having this extra support we will be able to provide them with opportunities to meet their needs. These preschoolers are really an amazing group that fill my day with their smiles, questions and original ideas.
My Project
This school year look uncertain but I would like to give my students germ-free mats for resting. I want to be able to sanitize properly their mats daily. Through research I found these sleeping mats with a warranty of three years.
Napping or resting is very important in the development of young children.
By providing downtime that aids the important physical and mental development that happens in early childhood, we will be keeping kids from becoming overtired, which can affect their moods and make it harder for them to focus during the learning process. With their new sleeping mats they will be able to feel fresh and ready to continue learning.
