Little Sprouts Learning Gardens, Garden Beds

Help me give my students a hands-on, multi-sensory learning experience by replacing our current garden beds with new ones.

My Project

Little Sprouts Learning Gardens is in desperate need of love and care. When we started the program last year, we worked with what we had and hoped for the best. What we have currently are 5 raised garden beds that are 15+ years old and quickly falling apart. We hope to replace these beds with new beds as well as upcycle the old bed into student work tables in the garden. The new beds will support student hands-on learning and connect the curriculum to real-world applications.

The beds requested will help us become sustainable as well as help students develop connections between what they read about in the traditional classroom setting and real life.

Additionally, the irrigation system will help ensure growing success throughout the hot southern summer. It is our hope that through parent support, community partnerships, and staff support, we will have a healthy harvest that can be utilized both in the culinary classroom as well as by school families in need.
