My Project

I am a preschool CPS teacher that works on the westside of Chicago. It's located on the heart of the Austin Area .We are lacking a school budget right now, and our supplies are very limited, and sometimes not filled. We serve students that are less fortunate then most. A lot of the students are being raised by their grandparents or older siblings. Some the of students come to school without the proper clothes on. They lack socks and clean clothes. Some of the students don't have weather appropriate coats and hats. With that being said, I'm sure some of the students lack nutritious home cooked meals. It's probably just a struggle to keep a roof over their heads. If I could get my project funded, I could aid in trying to keep the children smelling clean. I could offer a clean learning environment, and offer them something addition to their lunch. Some of the students miss or don't like the breakfast that's being offered, so having a little extra food around would help. The smiles on their faces when they enter the classroom, just changes the whole atmosphere. Children deserve to be safe, healthy, and protected. So, with your help, we can continue to do just this.
