Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With these tablets, my 1st and 2nd grade robotics students will have the ability to learn and engage with basic block coding programs. Currently we have a hand full of robots that interface with block coding programs that are geared to this age group. Laptops and desktops are not ideal for 6- and 7-year-olds to code and maneuver our robots.
These tablets are the perfect fit for small hands, big imaginations and a desire to get our robots on the move!
My goal is to teach my students basic coding skills and how to apply these basics to programing our robots. Block coding is the ground level of coding for our upper-level robotics clubs. With this basic coding skill set, our Little Robot Coders will transition easily into our other robotics programs with some experience and know-how under their little belts.
We are the first coding and robotics club available for 1st and 2nd graders in our district and I am eager to build our program.
Please help support the next generation of engineers!
