Little Readers, Big Dreams: Books for First Grade Success

My Project

Our first-grade classroom is filled with 80 eager young readers, each at their own unique stage in their reading journey. Some of our students are just beginning to sound out words, while others are ready to tackle longer sentences. That's why specific readers are so crucial - they meet each child exactly where they are. The requested whisper phones will allow children to hear what they are reading and the finger focus highlighters will help them keep their place as they read.

With your help, we can provide each student with the appropriate reading materials they need to grow and succeed.

Right now, we have a limited number of books at each reading level, which means our young readers often have to wait their turn to access 'just right' books. These readers are specially designed books that gradually increase in difficulty. Think of them as a reading ladder - each book helps students climb one step higher in their reading abilities.

When children have access to books at their level, their confidence soars, and their reading skills flourish.
