Little Owls Learning to Read

My Project

One might say the Little Owls Learning to Read is a funny title for a project. However, it's the perfect title for this project. The core of my school's mission is to teach little children to be successful readers. Our school's mascot is the owl. My job is to train little owls to be strategic, fluent, and enthusiastic readers. I teach phonemic awareness strategies explicitly everyday to my students. I would use this grant to purchase phonemic awareness games such as the Magnetic Activity Tin, puzzles, elkonin boxes and much more to create new literacy centers that would reinforce the skills they learned during direct instruction.
