My Students
This is my second year teaching kindergarten in a Title 1 school. I have 13 wonderful 5/6 year olds that are eager to learn and become readers. At such a young age my students will still be developing their listening skills and growing their focus.
My kindergartners truly make teaching the best part of my days as they are grateful for each activity we do.
I would like to use this as an opportunity to enhance their learning in all content areas and most importantly in their early literacy skills.
My Project
In kindergarten, we are learning to utilize phonics to become readers and writers. This sound system will help us hear the individual phonemes in each word and produce fluent readers and writers. We have also added some resources to help us practice math each day. The sharpies and the math game manipulatives will be so helpful to fulfill our daily learning needs and projects. We love to emerge ourselves in learning of all content areas every day. This age is crucial to learning as we are building the basic foundations of learning to set the stage for all other grade levels.
