My Students

Pre-K is a very busy place to be. My students learn by being active learners. Everyday they come in asking "are we going to do centers today?" I love when I have the opportunity to introduce them to a brand new center.

I teach the 40 youngest learners in my school.

It is my responsibility to make sure their first experience in a school setting is a positive one. I teach two groups of children and only have each group for half a day. Therefor I have a lot to teach them in a short amount of time. I must find fun and developmentally appropriate ways to do this.

My Project

My students need addition games and letter sound games to use during center time. My students would love to have the pop and win games during their center time. The two sets of games would help them to master skills in addition and hearing and identifying beginning, middle and ending sounds of words. They would accomplish all of this while playing a game, taking turns with classmates and having fun. When they're having fun and learning at the same time they are on their way to becoming lifelong learners and that's my long term goal for them.

Students who experience success in the early years of school become confident in their abilities to learn.

I know that all my students can and will learn how to add and how to recognize sounds in words but I need them to believe in themselves! You can help give them some fun tools to help them experience success.
