My Students

I will be welcoming in a new group of lively and eager 5 year olds real soon. A handful of them have attended some sort of classroom prior to coming to me, but many have not, which means I will be their first classroom teacher. I had the opportunity to meet a few of them and let me tell you that they are a creative, energetic and diverse group of kids. My school is made up of primarily lower income families that often struggle to make ends meet, so am eager to become another positive role model for them.

We will build a sense of community in our classroom and make it feel like a second home to my kids.

I want the kids to feel important, cherished, respected and loved whenever they are in school. So I try my best everyday to do so.

My Project

The supplies and materials I am requesting are for the kids to be able to better organize their tools at the desks. I already have their markers, crayons, scissors and pencils, but unfortunately I've been using the same caddies for a couple of years now and not everything is washing off anymore. I want them to have something shiny and new because they deserve it.

I want my kids to love writing and so, they need the tools to do it!

The dry erase markers will be used when we do dry erase board work, which can be whole group by "show me what you know" or they can simply write and erase for fun. Honestly, it is one of the most liked activities in a kindergarten classroom. The fun tools help to build their desire to write.

The drawers and pouches will be used to house individual activities that the kids will be able to pull out and use during activity times. The activities will change frequently, so that they are exposed to numerous fun, educational and exciting projects throughout the year.
