This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students with autism are attending school for the first time in a newly opened Flexroom! This space is designed for students who struggle with self-regulation in the general education setting.

Children who have autism tend to love a few things very intensely.

I try to build these passions to help my students learn skills such as collaboration, communication, and symbolic thinking. These LEGO STEM building toys will be a particularly fruitful tool for building these skills and a great way to help my students with autism build an interest they can share with their typical peers.
