Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We plan to read James and the Giant Peach as a class read aloud to build student comprehension of grade level texts.
All books are picked to help build students’ desire to read and inspire students to reach for their goals.
Ronald Dahl is a classroom favorite author. The Questioneers series was also added to inspire students towards their goals for the future.
I also included headphones for emergent readers to access audiobooks that fit their interests. Audiobooks increase students’ word recognition and allow students to access grade level books that they may not be able to read independently yet.
