I have a great bunch of kids. They are eager to learn and want to do the best that they can. We attend a public school in VA. I teach sweet second graders who are amazing, smart, and loving.
In our classroom, you will always find a diverse group of students.
There are students in our classroom who have a wide range of needs. Some are below level, on level, and above level in reading and in math. Having a wide range of understanding of the content makes it more difficult to reach each group, for each subject taught, on their level and with their learning style.
My Project
Little learners in our schools are often shy, unsure of themselves and nervous to talk out in class. Seesaw provides a great outlet for kids of all ages and ability levels to show their work and record their thinking in a safe place. On the teacher side it allows me to get to know the children better and make more time with each kid more effective. I also want to ensure that parents feel connected to our learning environment and students are prepared for the future by using apps like Seesaw. It connects parents to our day to day activities and enable them to see growth. My students proudly demonstrate their learning through Seesaw. I have heard some say that primary students are too young for an interactive, technological classroom. I completely disagree! In addition to using apps, my students have also coded, created digital collages, videos, and presentations. We use any and all appropriate technology we can get our hands on as a tool to help drive engagement. My students are proud of their work and love to record on Seesaw. This is wonderful, but creates problems when we have only two iPads that work with this app. These new iPads will enable more students the ability to record at the same time this year and for many years to come!
