My Project
As a kindergarten teacher and the grade-level chair at my school, I have the privilege of laying the foundation for learning for all 4 classes of our youngest scholars. I specialize in early childhood math instruction, where I work every day to make numbers meaningful, fun, and accessible for every child, no matter their starting point. Many of my students come from underserved communities and face barriers that extend beyond the classroom. Yet, they come to school curious, joyful, resilient, and eager to learn.
The materials I’m requesting through this DonorsChoose project will help transform our classroom into a more engaging, hands-on, and inclusive space.
Whether it’s math manipulatives, flexible seating, or organizational tools, each item will serve a specific purpose: to deepen understanding, increase student independence, and foster a love for learning. A perfect example is headphones. They'll be used in various ways, including independent learning, small group instruction, and reduction of distraction. For many of my students, school is their safe haven, and having the right tools makes all the difference in their academic and social growth.
