My Students
Can you imagine the pride on my students' faces as they view the results of their recycling and planting flowers to beautify their own environment documented in pictures?
I have twenty-five energetic first graders that love hands-on projects.
We are in the heart of the Delta where our technology resources are limited. Many of my students receive free or reduced price lunch, with many students coming from single parent low income households. Although they live in poverty daily, they have a great desire to learn.
My Project
My students will be taking part in recycling plastic to help save the landfills. They will also be planting flowers to help beautify our school and environment. I have requested an Apple iPad 2 to document their recycling and beautification project this coming school year.
The Apple iPad 2 will give us a way to document the project from the beginning to the end. It will also give my students a chance to use technology to write about their part in the project.
By supporting my project, you will be giving my students a chance to give a helping hand to their environment.
At the same time you will be giving them a chance to work with technology.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
