My Project
I teach in a small rural school in Missouri. I love working with my Special Education students and watching them learn new ways to grow, What makes my students special? My Special Education students are unique and smart . Their creativity shows throughout their work and they can benefit from this project by utilizing the supplies in the special education classroom . My goals are to build confidence by giving them the essential materials to perform and be creative in their own way. Second, the students will develop fine motor skills by cutting various paper, using markers, crayons and making their own unique art projects. Third , my students will gain knowledge by being organized with the various colors of folders to put into their own cubbies. This will give each of my student a visual tool to get organized on what art and fine motor skills that need to be separated . My students will build compassion, respect by giving them their own space to get organized in the classroom. Finally, my Special Education students will have so many ways to show their talents and gain their fine motor skills by directly impacting their ability to perform every day tasks, develop hand-eye coordination, and succeed in academic areas like writing and drawing. Fine motor skills helps with self esteem and builds confidence in the classroom. Fine motor skills are essential for learning different self-care tasks such as developing cognitive development, creative expression, and ensuring children are ready to handle the expectations of elementary school. Fine motor is an everyday task with toddlers and primary students. When teaching fine motor and organization skills, my students need the essential tools in the classroom such as crayons, markers, scissors, glue and folders for organization.
