Little Hands, Big Impact: Learning to Love Earth in Kindergarten

Help me give my students a simple, powerful way to protect the Earth—one refill at a time.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Cordova's classroom raised $336

My Project

In our kindergarten classroom, we’re learning how to care for the Earth one small habit at a time. One impactful change we can make is to reduce plastic waste by switching from single-use water bottles to reusable ones. With your help, we’ll bring a child-friendly water dispenser into our classroom so students can refill their bottles, stay hydrated, and build eco-friendly habits early.

The goal of this project is to promote environmental responsibility and reduce plastic waste in our kindergarten classroom by providing a child-friendly water dispenser and reusable water bottles.

This will help students develop healthy hydration habits while learning the importance of sustainability, conservation, and their role in protecting the planet.

This project will help my students make real-world connections between their daily choices and the health of our planet. By using a water dispenser and reusable bottles, they’ll learn about conservation, the water cycle, and reducing waste—not just from books, but through action. These habits will reinforce lessons in science, environmental studies, and social responsibility.

It will also foster independence and healthy routines, as students learn to care for their bottles, make eco-friendly choices, and understand that even small actions can have a big impact. By linking hydration to environmental care, this project brings abstract concepts like climate change and sustainability down to a level that kindergarteners can understand, practice, and feel proud of.

My students are full of curiosity, energy, and compassion. They want to know why recycling matters, where water comes from, and how they can make a difference. Their kindness, enthusiasm, and willingness to try new things inspire me every day. When given the chance, they rise to the occasion—not just as learners, but as little leaders ready to care for their environment and each other.
