Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, expressive, and full of creativity! They light up when they get to make something with their hands from painting and collage to drawing and mixed media. However, many of them don't have access to basic art supplies at home, so school is their one place to create freely and explore their artistic voices.

Art is a powerful tool for self-expression, and it deserves to be seen and celebrated!

With this project, I want to create a dedicated art wall where students’ artwork can be proudly displayed throughout the year. I am requesting for a rolling cart stand that will give us a mobile space for visual instructions or hanging drying art. Cardstock papers gives students a sturdy surface for drawing, painting, and mixed media. Classroom borders and wall decals will help transform the wall into a welcoming gallery space. Pushpins and magnetic frames will make it easy to hang and change out artwork as students complete new pieces and drying rack to dry students art work.

This display space will help students take pride in their work, build confidence, and feel that their creativity is valued. It also encourages peer appreciation and dialogue around art which is an essential part of any visual arts program.

When students see their art displayed with care, it sends a powerful message: “your work matters.” This project will make our classroom feel more like a studio or gallery a space where creativity is nurtured and celebrated.
