This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I Charter School in Southern California. Our school is committed to creating student leaders who value quality education and embrace their role as community members of our diverse community.

About 40% of my students are English Language Learners.

My students are hard working, curious, and enthusiastic learners. Their sense of wonder and appreciation of simple things inspire me every day to be the best teacher I can be. I hope to instill a love for learning by providing a safe and nurturing environment rich in learning opportunities.

My Project

Distance learning has been very challenging to students, but they continue to remain excited about learning. To engage students in learning, I am asking for STEM materials that will hopefully be available to them when we can safely return to the classroom. For now, the students will have access to them virtually during whole group and small group instruction.

The materials will allow students to develop many skills such as oral language, problem solving, and creativity.

The students will also have hands on experience with building projects such as planes, boats, and even scenes from a fairy tale!
