My students are a small group of children who crave education in a number of ways. They work twice as hard as the average child in order to achieve similar goals, but it does not stop them from doing so. They come to school every day in order to gain all that they can from our program, and we look forward to providing it for them.
We are from a very small community with a big heart.
Although we try to give our children what they need, we are not able to provide it all. The early childhood education sets in motion a variety of journeys for each child, and for these children we aim to make each journey successful because that's what we do.
My Project
The diverse learners in my classroom will benefit from the light table manipulative items, the twist on animal builders, the filling buckets and geometric manipulative pieces that will not only empower them to learn and reinforce their prior knowledge, but also enhance their fine-motor muscles. These visually stimulating manipulative items such as the filling tubes and jars, Geostix and translucent pieces will benefit my children in so many ways, giving them the opportunity to meet their individual goals, as well as support their occupational and physical therapeutic needs. The manipulative items requested are colorful, bulky and easy for my children to utilize with support or independently, giving them opportunities to grow.
Along with the physical benefits, these manipulative items will allow for students to not only reinforce foundational skills such as counting, shape and color recognition but also support problem solving skills, spatial awareness and sensory integration.
