Do you remember going on trips to the aquarium and zoo when you were a child? Did you remember all the school things you saw? I want my students to be able to observe and take notes about things that catches their attention on trips, during nature walks, and when I am teaching science.
My students are general and special education students that attend a Title I New York Public school.
They are curious children and are eager to learn through exploration. I wanted to get this project up as soon as possible, so my students can have the clipboards and paper during our spring nature walks.
My Project
I am requesting 21 clipboards and 2 cartons of copy paper. The clipboards are perfect for outdoor journaling, map drawing, and science observations. My students can use the smooth writing surface to take notes on the copy paper. The copy paper would allow me to make a variety of observation checklists that my students can use when exploring. My students can use their 5 senses to discover different things and write about their experiences.
My students need to develop and enhance their sense of curiosity and discovery.
The clipboards and copy paper will allow this to become possible. These materials will enable my students to discover, learn, and take notes independently.
