Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students enter the classroom every morning, ready and eager to learn. No longer are the days of playing house and sandbox all day in kindergarten. These students are bursting with great potential to be our future leaders. They consist of mostly English language learners that attend a low socioeconomic school where over 75 % of our families qualify for free breakfast and lunch. This can present challenges but also creates wonderful opportunities. In my classroom, we learn together and from each other.
They have the most caring hearts and an incredible capacity to learn while taking on challenging lessons, classroom responsibilities, and building friendships.
It is not hard to believe these children will grow to be our best and brightest future. I am so grateful to be a part of their first step in the love of learning in our wonderful public school.
My Project
Children of all ages are curious and natural problem solvers. Engineering tools help build a strong base of problem-solving and critical thinking that prepares children for success in school and in life. These tools allow cooperation and discovery through play.
Exploration with these engineering tools gives students the opportunity to put math and science theory into practice in a way that cements their learning.
As we build our number sense, measurement ability and begin to understand force and motion, we will create projects that we can build the solutions to. We plan to use these in our science and math centers during the year.
Your support can help enrich the learning environment in our classroom.
