Little Ears Need Help Listening

My Students

I spend my day with 20 funny and unique little humans. Each of these students are on a different developmental path. I am a teacher in a lower-income school where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. It is important to keep these challenges away from our learning environment.

Often my students have very hectic days without any consistency.

When these students come to me, I do my very best to keep a predictable routine. Through this routine, the students can be successful and find academic excellence. Distant learning has been a very stressful event for many of my students! They need all the support I can give them!

The students in my class enjoy having time to read, listen and talk about the stories. They like to move, they like to share and receive lots of positive attention. Many of the students are being raised in nontraditional households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. With our families having these additional financial struggles, it is not possible to ask for extra donations for our learning environment.

My Project

I have purchased several sets of student-size earbuds for each of my first graders. I purchased "kid" size but they are not. The earbuds are always falling out of my first graders' ears and have become a tangled mess. I spend much of my tech time untangling wires for my students.

Each student needs a set of headphones to make listening to stories and working independently on their computer easier.

We use Chromebooks daily for multiple subjects. My hard-working students need these headphones to be successful. These headphones will be a great resource to support my students.
