it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our Montessori classroom is full of students ready to put their culinary skills to the test! With your support, our 1st through 3rd grade students will be able to do more food preparation-a Practical Life skill that strengthens their fine motor skills, builds concentration, encourages independence, and even incorporates math in the kitchen.
In the Montessori environment, food preparation is more than just making food, it’s an opportunity for children to plan, problem-solve, and express themselves while following their taste buds.
With access to their own toaster oven and preparation tools, students will be able to engage in making food for themselves and their community. Even though students are always supervised when cooking, having options like kids knives will help ensure cooking is not only fun, but safe.
These materials will allow accessibility and support of learning culinary skills in the classroom, but they also lay the foundation for real life application for years to come. When students learn these skills early, they are better prepared for a life of self-sufficiency.
