Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom is in need of a new kitchen play set so that my students can fully engage in hands-on, imaginative learning. As a special education Pre-K teacher, I use play-based learning every day to support my students, many of whom have autism. Our current kitchen set was a hand-me-down, and while we’ve done our best to patch it up, it now has broken pieces and loose screws that poses a safety concern in our classroom.
With this new kitchen, my students will be able to explore social interactions, practice daily life skills, and build communication through our structured playtime curriculum.
