Little Authors, Big Minds!

Help me give my students a book binding machine so that they can write their hearts out and have a chance to publish their stories throughout the school year!

My Students

Our school is located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and serves Pre-K to 5th grade. The majority of young learners at our New York City school receive free and reduced-price lunch. Our first-grade class is made up of 25 goofy, kind, and bright students who come from mostly bilingual homes.

Not only are the students exciting to be around, they are also some of the most caring, hardworking, and curious first graders who act daily as change-makers, bringing a multicultural lens into the classroom.

As their teacher, I strive every day to motivate my students to achieve their highest potential through music and imagination!

My Project

My students have been doing quite a bit of writing since the school year began in early September! Therefore, a book binding machine would really help motivate and interest my students to read their peers writing.

A book binding machine would allow us as a class to explore all that goes in to publishing a book!

Additionally, it will allow my students to take the stories they write in our classroom home to share with the families.

We are also requesting more laminating sheets for the covers of our books and Duck on a Bike to help inspire us and build our prediction skills!
