This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school recently had to cut its VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) program, and my students are really feeling that loss. Many of them used art class as a way to express themselves, build confidence, and explore their creativity. Without it, they’re missing an important outlet, one that helps them process emotions, connect to learning in meaningful ways, and just enjoy being kids.

I teach an amazing group of 3rd graders who are full of imagination, energy, and big ideas.

They light up when they get the chance to create, whether it’s painting, drawing, or crafting something new. With limited resources and no formal art instruction anymore, I’m doing everything I can to bring those creative opportunities into our classroom.

The supplies I’m requesting are paint, paper, markers, and other art materials that will help bring art back into my students’ lives. These tools will allow them to explore new techniques, express their thoughts and feelings, and take pride in their work. Art helps students find their voice, and your support will make sure that even without a dedicated program, they still get the chance to do that.
