When was the last time you truly lost yourself in a book? For many of my students, they can't remember a time, or they have never experienced that.
My students are 6th graders in a middle school.
Our school begins with 6th grade and ends with 8th grade. We strive to meet their development needs along with their learning needs. Many students from our school come from difficult home lives, stricken by poverty.
My Project
My 6th graders need to develop an interest in reading to help them increase their reading scores as well as their internal drive to learn. Reading about historical topics they are interested in can help encourage this increase. I want my students to become life long learners and to help them develop this drive, they need to read books they are interested in.
By providing books on historical topics that interest my students, you will help foster their desire to read and learn.
It is important for the future that these students increase their reading and learning ability.
