My Project

For our unit on Culture & Belonging, we have been borrowing novels from another school. This class set of Red Scarf Girl would give the students an opportunity to house our books in the literature classroom year round.

We cover all of the RL standards by reading this autobiographical story written by Ji-Li Jiang.

This novel tells the story of growing up during China’s Cultural Revolution which also ties into social studies. Many people think they know the whole story, but they are surprised to find out more.

Please help me fund this book set for my class of 8th graders. Thank you!
