Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Resilience is how I would describe my students. They come to my class eager to learn, just like any other 2nd grade student. The only difference is they bring along with them little or no prior knowledge to build upon.

The students that will benefit from the materials in my shopping cart are a diverse group.

The ethnicity of this group consist of African American students, Hispanic students, Islamic students, and White Americans. They all attend a title 1 school. When describing this group of students I have to use the word resilient. No matter what baggage they bring from home they never give up! This character trait is pass down from the staff to the intermediate students to my second grade class.

My Project

Every day the students work in centers. These writing tiles, sentences building cards, and sequence tiles will enable the students to stay focused and to be engaged in the different centers. They will be practicing the skills that were taught throughout the literature lessons. Not only will these materials support the lessons, but they will give the students a chance to work individual or in small groups that challenge them.

The donations from this project will improve the classroom learning environment.

Since my class struggles with reading and writing these materials will provide the students with tools that will enable my students to reach their full academic level.
