My students need materials to be used in the listening center. Book titles include (6 of each book + CD audio book) Firndle, Indian in the Cupboard, Holes, Matilda, The Tale of Despereax, and Fudge A Mania.
Welcome to the wildly exciting world of 3rd grade. This is my third year in third grade and I am going to make it the best year yet. My school community is a high need community as we are a Title 1 school.
My students face a wide range of challenges, as do most kids these days. Many come from challenging home situations which, through my observation, affect them here at school.
I am requesting various books and audio books to enhance my listening center. I have come to realize how important it is for kids to be surrounded and have many opportunities with literacy. The listening center gives them exposure to reading, vocabulary, and various types of literature. It also models excellent fluency and tone. My students will greatly benefit from these materials. Previously I have been recording myself reading the books, which has been okay, but as a busy teacher, I don't have enough time to record enough books to last the entire school year.
Through your generosity, my students will have the opportunity to enjoy the ever so imaginative world of literature. By listening and reading along with The Tale of Despereaux, my students will enter the imaginative world of Despereuax, a brave mouse trying to save his one true love, the Princess Pea. My students will be able to join Matilda in her quest to find love and a family. Literature will take my students on countless adventures, and you could help this all happen!
