This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Technology can be used as a tool to inspire students in literacy. I intend to utilize the materials in this project to help my students improve their writing and reading skills.
My students are title one students living in the South Central Los Angeles area of California.
The students in my classroom are African-American and Latino children. I have students of all academic levels in my classroom. In order to meet their diverse needs, I need to implement various instructional techniques.
My Project
Given these resources, my students of varying abilities, will have access to the tools of technology within the confines of our classroom. Although we do participate in Computer Lab sessions twice a week for 45 minutes each, these materials will allow my boys and girls to utilize technology in both areas seamlessly. They will learn Internet research skills, as well as how to use word processing programs to write compositions, research reports, and power point presentations.
This is an important project because these students need to be literate in the use of technology as well as in Language Arts skills.
In order to keep up economically in the changing world, computer literacy has become an important skill.
