My Project

We are following Wendy Ewald's framework of teaching literacy skills through photography. Our students have a range of abilities including using their communication devices and their preferred modes of communication whether it be sign language, verbal or gestures and pointing. The students have various literacy skill levels beginning with emerging skills.

Students create photographs in class and these supplies will allow them to create handmade books to place their photos in and "write" about or further express themselves.

They will be able to add picture symbols and writings into the books. This opportunity will allow them a new approach for self-expression.
