Help me give my students the gift of learning by purchasing two class sets of the graphic novel Frankenstein. Kids learn best when the reading is at appropriate level and its engaging for the students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a mixed classroom of learners. About 30% of my students are special education needing a large assortment of learning tools to impact their learning and I also have about 40% English Language Learners who also need differentiated material to engage in the learning. Even though these students have different learning needs, they all share a real love for learning. They also enjoy the Horror and Suspense elective course that they have with me.
Most recently, my co-teacher and I have decided that we want to use graphic novels as a means of differentiating the learning.
Doing do will allow all of the students to be a part of the lesson and find their own unique entry point to learning.
My Project
My students all have multiple learning abilities; some are English Language Learners, some are Special Education students. One of the ways in which I am most effective teaching is by offering my students differentiated materials like graphic novels. This material allows all students to become active participants while reinforcing difficult concepts that will make them life long learners.
Using a graphic novel will give my students the ability to engage in the learning better and have a level playing field to learning difficult literature.
This will also give my students the ability to find new passion in reading and hopefully become avid lifetime readers.
