This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help my 2nd graders develop a love of reading with a new literacy center! My students are bright, curious, and full of potential. They come to school each day eager to learn and grow. One of the most critical things I can give them is a strong reading foundation.

I am an EL 2nd grade teacher, and many of my students are still developing the foundational skills they need to become confident readers.

Unfortunately, our classroom lacks a well-equipped literacy center—one that allows students to explore books, build vocabulary, and practice reading skills at their own pace.

With your help, I hope to create a dynamic, engaging literacy center stocked with high-interest books, leveled readers, phonics games, and flexible seating that makes reading time a joy. This project will provide the resources and environment my students need to thrive.

Your support will make a direct, lasting impact on my students’ ability to read, learn, and succeed—not just this year, but for years to come.
