My amazing students come to school eager to learn and ready to do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can to be successful one day. As a teacher at a Title I school, my students are faced with several challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide an engaging student-centered classroom experience that encourages learning and keeps my students relaxed.
My Project
This past year was my first year teaching first grade. I absolutely fell in love with teaching this grade. The age is so fun and the work they do is critical. I learned so much.
Literacy is a huge part of first grade.
We do so much work with writing, reading, phonics, and word work. I found it difficult to do some of the activities without these materials. Students need engaging activities for word work. I noticed students love working with play doh when making words. It was the number one activity they chose to do. Please, help me provide these materials for my students.
