My Students
My students are sweet, loving special education students in the 6th-8th grades. Their disabilities range anywhere from ADHD/ADD to intellectually disabled, who are severely behind in their academics. My students love to come to school and enjoy being around their peers and teachers. They love to learn new things and look forward to each new day and lesson.
My school is in a low-income area and many students are on free or reduced-price lunches.
Our middle school is one of three in the community and is the smallest.
My Project
The reading and literacy cubes will help increase reading and writing while the bouncy bands will help with wiggles while sitting at their desks. The various cubes will help give a different variety during reading comprehension by asking questions about the story and the writing cubes will provide prompts to help with the writing process.
Many students find it very difficult to sit still while completing assignments, so the bouncy bands on the chairs will provide a spot for them to wiggle and not get into trouble.
This will allow students the freedom to move without getting in trouble.
