Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project will focus on literacy promotion. Students' comprehension and fluency tend to increase when students read books that contain characters that reflect their racial characteristics, culture, and customs.
Books that promote these qualities are ways to reinforce social and emotional growth along with academic growth.
I currently teach Black and Hispanic students. The diversity of am requesting social emotional books as well, these communities are more susceptible to educational disparities due to their race. These books will promote diversity teaching students about their culture and other POC communities.
