My Project

An important part of the work we do as educators includes professional development. Since I started working as a teacher, I continue to educate myself and strive to learn and understand ways of better supporting my students. Literacy is one area I've really focused on as I expand my knowledge and develop my teaching skills.

A few years ago, I took the IMSE Orton Gillingham Comprehensive literacy training to further my understanding and learn new approaches to teach my students how to read and write.

Over the summer, I would like to complete a refresher course which will review what was taught in the training. I would also like to take two new IMSE OG courses on dyslexia, grammar and writing. I am also requesting a few books on phonological awareness interventions and phonics lessons.

All of these courses and materials will help me review and provide me with new knowledge and skills for approaching these concepts with my students. Thank you for your consideration in supporting this project!
