This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is a billingual school and will host a Literacy Night. The impact of these books will allow pareents and children to read these titles together. Our goal is to build a love of reading for the family/community engagement. This donation of books will allow parents to read together every day, talk and build vocabulary, model reading, create a reading-rich home, encourage your child's reading, and keep books handy.

Parents can enhance the reading by engaging the child in phonemic awareness activities, rhymes, pointing to each word as they are reading, as well as rereading, all of these activities benefit their child in developing early literacy skills .

Fostering a love for reading early will help to build life long readers.
