This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Novel study is a key component to building literacy in my classroom. Through small group novel reading, students are encouraged to read collaboratively. The more time spent reading, the higher the level of literacy and educational attainment for the student.
Freedom of choice is a highly encouraged during book choosing process.
Help give students more choices, more, variety, and more access to some of the best Young Adult novels on the Time Magazine top 100 list.
The goal of this project is to increase engagement in reading. What makes my students special is that they regularly over achieve for their socioeconomic status and show a genuine desire to learn.
