This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 24 loving kindergartners who come to school every day ready to learn even though they lack some of the basic classroom materials. Our classes are a mix of our general education population and the special education population. Despite the vast difference in academic levels, they are always eager to learn and see one another.

Unfortunately, the pandemic has changed the way we educate our students.

I need to ensure that my students' needs are met in school as well as virtually. I will have to re-create that feeling virtually. My mission is to get them excited about learning even when they are learning virtually!

My Project

The hand2mind literacy and math versatiles would be perfect to reinforce my students knowledge and independency! My students love joining me for Guided Reading groups each day. During instruction, we often build words, explore word patterns and write simple sentences while learning how to read. The word and sentence building hand2mind versatile rods will support my students in manipulating letters and blends to make words, build and write simple sentences. Students will be super engaged connecting the rods while building individual words, sentences independently and able to self check their work. It will be a variation from writing the words and sentences and waiting for the teacher to check their work.
